Gambhir slams half century after Yuvraj falls

Nagpur: Australia won the toss and elected to field against India in the second ODI here on Wednesday.
Yuvraj Singh returned to the Indian line-up after a finger injury kept him out of the first game. Virat Kohli made way for the southpaw.
For Australia, Brett Lee and James Hopes were ruled out due to injuries. Shaun Marsh and Ben Hilfenhaus came into the eleven. Mitchell Johnson, whose fitness was in question before the game, was also named in the eleven.

Dew factor prompts Australia to field

Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

With late-evening dew expected to be a big factor, Ricky Ponting had little hesitation in bowling first as Australia sought to build on a 1-0 lead in this seven-match one-day series. They were without the injured Brett Lee and James Hopes, with Ben Hilfenhaus and Shaun Marsh coming in, while India were bolstered by the return of Yuvraj Singh. Virat Kohli was left out from the XI that lost by four runs in Vadodara.

There was likely to be a bit of assistance for the quick bowlers early on, with the pitch a much lighter shade than the brick-red tint of the surface used in the first game. The two teams played a Test match here exactly a year ago, but this is the first ODI to be played at the new stadium.

For India, with question marks aplenty about the fielding and pace bowling, the onus was on the batsmen to build a huge total that would put pressure on Australia. For Ponting's side, the key was perhaps Nathan Hauritz, who bowled a superb spell in the opening game until taken for some runs in his final two overs.

Australia never lost at the old stadium in Nagpur and they've suffered just one defeat in a live game - at the Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh two years ago - in India over the past five years. If India are to get back into the series, they'll have to do it with the odds stacked against them.
